So while sitting here in the dreary office trying to be the perfect employee by pretending to work I ponder... the question every woman/wife/mother needs to think about sometime of the day... that horrile one that gives us all a shudder down our backs....
What's for supper??
So I'm thinking, should I go for couscous with sweet creamy pork chops or cheesy bacon baked potatoes with pork armadillo.... lots of work or little work... that is the question....
I'm thinking little work:
Firstly get yourself some quick making couscous, the one where you throw boiling water in and just cover and leave...
make couscous as per package instructions
when done add some rosemary and olive spices should you not have add any spices that you like if you want.
Also add some olive oil or butter
Mix all toghether and tada... couscous-a-la-me
Sweet creamy pork chops
Place pork chops in a over dish
spice with salt and pepper
Mix together 1 cup mayonaise, 1/2 cup fruit chutney and about 1/2 packet of brown or white onion soup mix... pour over pork chops put in the oven for about 1 hour at 180 degrees celcius.
when done dish some couscous into a plate and over that you add your pork chop and sauce... remember couscous can be dry so you have to add alot of sauce. If you think the sauce you made is to little then either concentrate it with some water or just add more mayo and chutney.. you are using soup mixture so it will stay thick.
ENJOY

Interesting Supper
I don't have any pictures yet BUT... I can write what's in it and the responses...
I made this dish last night and to tell you the truth my Hubby wasn't to impressed with it (because he thinks it wasn't enough food) but my 2 year old loved it and so did I.
Here goes:
First on the menu my mince egg bake:
1 onion (chopped)
300g mince (any type)
Salt & Pepper
Little bit of olive oil for frying of onions
1/4 teaspoon of curry powder
3 eggs
First heat the oil in a frying pan, when golden add mince and spices fry until cooked. Spoon into 3 ramakin dishes and break the egg on top, sprinkle with salt and pepper and put it into the oven for about 10 minutes so that the egg can cook.
The cheesy potato bake:
About 1 large potato per ramekin.
Cheese sauce
Margerine or butter
Cheese
Salt and pepper
You have one of two choices here, either slice potatoes or cut into chunks. Cook potatoes in pot of water with little salt. When cooked, spoon potatoes into ramekins and add small blocks of margerine or butter, sprinkle salt & pepper and pour over cheese sauce, then garnish with some cheese, also put in the oven for about 10 minutes and serve....
It's delish... the cheese and marg makes a nice sauce with the potatoes and the salt and pepper just do it.. don't need alot of spices...

Intro
Hi All...
I'm Karen. I like cooking, baking whatever the kitchen has to offer me.
I make use of what the cupboards have to offer me, I try not to dwell into to many complicated etc baking or cooking.. I like making tranditional South African dishes, I also like inventing my own thing, I read blogs and get ideas from there as well...
